Norma Ibarra
Toronto, ON
Norma Ibarra is a Mexican-born, Canadian multidisciplinary artist, photographer, and storyteller whose work documents resilient communities, cultural movements, and diverse identities across the globe. Through photography and media, she explores themes of representation, belonging, and collective resilience, with a focus on action and adventure sports and grassroots communities.
Her practice centers on creating and documenting inclusive spaces where women, queer, and BIPOC communities can see themselves reflected. She is particularly interested in how identity, culture, and public space intersect, and how movement and creativity can reshape narratives within traditionally male-dominated environments. Her photography has been featured in magazines, editorial platforms, commercial campaigns, and exhibitions, and she is the author of the photobook Para ti (For You).
