About Us
The Globe and Mail Foundation is a Canadian charity dedicated to protecting and promoting excellence in journalism.
With an educational mandate, the foundation’s mission is to deliver programming that enhances media literacy, deepens Canadians' knowledge on issues of the day, and supports high-quality training for journalists in Canada and around the world.
The Foundation believes that a thriving media sector that provides responsibly reported, verified journalism on news and issues vital to its audiences is critical to civic engagement, and to the sustained health of our democracy.
The Globe and Mail Foundation is proud to support the media ecosystem in Canada and abroad, and contribute to a future in which journalism thrives. The Foundation is independent of The Globe and Mail news media organization, and is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
